Ruth M


“Ruth Mukwana works with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in New York. She has worked with the United Nations in Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, occupied Palestinian territory, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and at the UN Headquarters both in New York and Geneva. She is also a fiction writer and her short stories have appeared in Solstice Magazine, Black Warriors Review, Consequence Magazine and The Compassion Anthology, and
Speak the Magazine. She’s also currently investigating the use of storytelling/narrative fiction to
galvanise action to address the causes and consequences of humanitarian crises.

Ruth has a Masters in Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from Bennington College and holds a Bachelors degree
in Law from Makerere University. She lives with her daughter and niece in New York.”
